THE GRAND LODGE OF QUEENSLAND HAS BEEN REGULARLY CONSTITUTED
OUR LODGES ARE MASONICALLY REGULAR IN ALL RESPECTS
WE HAVE A RIGHT TO MEET AS FREEMASONS
Many statements have been issued by various Masonic bodies that the Grand Lodge of Queensland is a “spurious Grand Lodge”. To put this claim into context, a spurious Grand Lodge is one that was either not formed as per masonic protocol or one that has failed to adhere to the Antient Landmarks and other stringent and necessary requirements. To put the facts straight: –
THE GRAND LODGE OF QUEENSLAND HAS EXISTED SINCE 1904, AND, AS THE FIRST GRAND INSTALLATION OF THE GLoQ WAS CONDUCTED BY THE MOST WORSHIPFUL GRAND MASTER OF THE GRAND LODGE OF VICTORIA, THERE CAN BE NO DOUBT AS TO THE REGULARITY OF ITS FORMATION.
Likewise the Grand Lodge of Queensland has never failed in its duty/commitment to the Antient Landmarks or its members, therefore, it can only be deduced that comments emanating from various Australian Grand Lodges is incorrect and misleading.
The Treaty or Articles of Union that formed UGLQ from the Grand Lodge of Queensland and the Queensland Grand Lodge, does not contain any section, paragraph, or note that prescribes the dissolution and/or the closing of either of those two Grand Lodges.
THE GRAND LODGE OF QUEENSLAND IS A LAWFUL MASONIC GRAND LODGE that is in amity with numerous Grand Lodges in Europe, Asia, the West Pacific and the United States of America. As such, the claim that the Grand Lodge of Queensland is “spurious” implies that all these Grand Lodges who are in amity with the Grand Lodge of Queensland are also “spurious”.
As many of these Australian Grand Lodges are, in all probability, also in amity with many of these Grand Lodges, could it be deduced that by questioning the right of existence of the GLoQ, these Grand Lodges are accusing those lodges that are in amity with the GLoQ, are, by implication, of possible un-Masonic conduct.
Further, it should be pointed out that Masonic Jurisdiction applies only to the authority that a Grand Lodge holds over its daughter Lodges and not to a geographical area as there are numerous lodges meeting in every State of Australia holding under different or separate Grand Lodges.
A SUMMARY OF THE FACTS
- The Grand Lodge of Queensland (GLoQ) is a properly Constituted Grand Lodge established in 1904.
- At its inception 42 International Grand Lodges pledged amity with it.
- In the past two years each of those Grand Lodges has been contacted and none have revoked their amity.
- Also in the past two years five further International Grand Lodges have signed amity agreements with the GLoQ.
- Freemasonry is a Universal Brotherhood and no one Grand Lodge has Territorial Rights in any jurisdiction. (The United Grand Lodge of England claimed such a right in Malaysia. It is expected that a written apology to the Grand Master of The Grand Lodge of Malaysia will be forthcoming).
- The GLoQ has a Board of General Purposes which makes recommendations regarding governance to the Quarterly Communications and all decisions are then made by the ordinary members of the GLoQ who can vote, in person, electronically or by proxy.
- The GLoQ does not interfere in the management of the Lodges holding under it. However, it does require that the Lodges and brethren who make up such Lodges, comply with the constitution of the GLoQ and the Antient landmarks of the order.
- The GLoQ holds the register of all its members and issues Master Masons Certificates once a candidate is raised.

WE’RE OFFICIAL AND READY TO PROMOTE THE TRUE MASONIC VALUES OF BROTHERLY LOVE, RELIEF AND TRUTH

The Consecration of Mathew Flinders Lodge #80, established under the banner of the Grand Lodge of Queensland on Saturday, December 3, 2022, marked the beginning of an exciting new era of Freemasonry in the Loddon/Mallee region of Victoria.

Designated as a travelling lodge in the truest sense of the word, our Warrant encompasses our authority to embraces Craft, Mark and Royal Ark Mariner Degrees.
We meet on the 1st Saturday of every even month (January excepted) in hotel rooms that are temporarily fitted out as a Masonic Lodge in a ‘tabletop’ format that emulates that of our Brethren who met in inns over 300 years ago and where they laid the foundations of the principles and tenets of Masonic ideals practiced today.
Our motto – ‘Brotherly Love, Relief and Truth’ (Amor Fraternitatis, Relevamen et Veritas) – is proudly displayed on all Mathew Flinders correspondence, newsletters and other official Lodge papers as a permanent reminder to our lodge members of the principles of loving all, offering help and assistance to those who need it and to be truthful to ourselves and to others.
Our lodge is family and friends focussed and the 1st Saturday of every odd month dedicated to social events open to members, ladies, partners and friends. We have enjoyed BBQs, lunches, visits to exhibitions, etc. and we will continue to promote other exciting and interesting programs.
